ICT For AFRICA CONFERENCE 2024 :

SUBMISSIONS

Submission Guidelines :

All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome :

Full research papers

should not exceed the following layout requirements :

Front page to include title, author details, abstract and keywords . This page does not count as part of the 10 page body of the paper.

Body of paper is no more than 10 pages in length (excluding references and appendices). Page size should be A4. Allow for a 25 mm margin on both sides of each page, a 25 mm margin at the top of each page and a 25 mm margin at the bottom of each page.

Acknowledgements and Copyright statement are added after revision and are excluded from the 10 page paper length.

Research-in-progress papers

should not exceed the following layout requirements :

Front page to include title, author details, abstract and keywords . This page does not count as part of the 6 page body of the paper.

Body of paper is no more than 6 pages in length (excluding references and appendices).   Page size should be A4. Allow for a 25 mm margin on both sides of each page, a 25 mm margin at the top of each page and a 25 mm margin at the bottom of each page.

Acknowledgements and Copyright statement are added after revision and are excluded from the 6 page paper length.

Research-in-progress papers will be presented in the conference in regular presentation sessions.

Poster slam papers

Front page to include title, author details, abstract and keywords as shown on the previous page. This page does not count as part of the wordcount

Text to be no more than 1,000 words.

Other requirements are as for research-in-progress and full papers (above)

An A0 sized poster (physical, not virtual) is also required for attendees at the poster slam sessions.

All text should be formatted according to the details of these instructions. ICT4A papers are not supplied in hard copy.

Submission of papers for review should be made electronically via  EasyChair. All submissions must be in pdf format, must be formatted using the styles illustrated in this document and must adhere to the guidelines.

Please do not password-protect your document.

Panel Discussion Papers

We invite panel discussion paper submissions on topics related to ICT and its transformative role in various sectors in Africa. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to :

  • Digital Transformation: Case studies, best practices, and strategies for leveraging ICT to drive innovation and development in Africa.
  • Cybersecurity and Privacy: Addressing the challenges and opportunities of ensuring a secure and private digital ecosystem in Africa.
  • ICT for Education: Exploring innovative approaches to enhancing education through technology, e-learning, and digital resources.
  • Healthcare and Telemedicine: Leveraging ICT to improve healthcare delivery, telemedicine initiatives, and health information systems.
  • Agriculture and Food Security: The role of ICT in boosting agricultural productivity, supply chains, and food security in Africa.
  • E-Government and Public Services: Strategies for effective e-governance, digital public services, and citizen engagement.

Panel discussion paper submissions should be between 3 and 6 pages in length

Exceptional conference papers will be considered for publication in a special issue of the African Journal of Information Systems(AJIS).
Conference proceedings will be published on ICT University online repository and indexed in Google scholar.

Very Important : Identifying information such as names, affiliation and contact information for all authors must be excluded from the initial submission. You will only be allowed to include this during the camera-ready submission.

This is done to ensure a blind peer review process, where reviewers assess the work without being influenced by authors identities.
